1. Can I receive a dental procedure without an x-ray? Is the x-ray safe and is it always required?
You cannot receive a dental procedure without an x-ray because often times, the problem you are experiencing may be masked and it in fact be another problem or you may have a deeper problem that has arisen and is in the bone or deeper gum tissue. X-rays will help Dr. Sohn determine this and you will have the peace of mind that unnecessary procedures are not being performed. Dental x-rays only expose you to minimal amounts of radiation and are not considered to be a big deal. If you have any questions about x-rays, please call our Denver office today.
2. How many surgeries will I need to extract my teeth and have implants placed?
In many cases, you will only need to make a single appointment in our Denver office. Our immediate implants ensure that your teeth are extracted and implants placed the SAME day. If you want to have traditional implants placed, then you would need to come into our Denver office for the extractions and then for the implants.
3. How do I know if I am the right candidate for dental implants?
You may be wondering if you are the right candidate to have dental implants placed in your mouth. Of course, you will need to come into our office for a complete dental implant consultation and Dr. Sohn can help you make an informed decision about your implant options. Some of the things that make a good candidate include:
• You are a non-smoker
• You have loose teeth or dentures
• Your dental bridge gets a lot of food particles stuck under it
• You have a hard time chewing food
• You are missing one or more teeth
Dr. Sohn is prepared to provide you with the information you need regarding dental implants.
4. Why choose a dental implant specialist?
A dental implant specialist has a higher level of training and is able to provide you with the unique care you need. Each implant specialist receives an additional three to four years of dental training from an ADA accredited school.
