1. Tooth-Colored Fillings
Amalgam fillings are the silver fillings in teeth that were most commonly used by dentists. Now, tooth-colored fillings are more popular because they are aesthetically pleasing, and they are not noticeable.

Dr. Sohn uses tooth-colored fillings in our Denver, CO office and can discuss them with you. We also replace old amalgam fillings!

2. Dental Crowns
A dental crown, often called a cap, fits over an entire tooth and sits on the gum line. This is a great choice for patients who have broken or decayed teeth that are too damaged to be filled.

Crowns are made from different materials to include metal, porcelain fused to metal, resin, and ceramic. The idea behind the cap is to provide your damaged tooth with a strong foundation to prevent more damage.

3. Inlays and Onlays
Inlays and onlays are also referred to as direct fillings and they can be made up of porcelain, composite materials, or gold. These types of fillings are used when a patient’s tooth is decayed or damaged.

An inlay is when the filling is placed within the center of a tooth and an onlay is when the filling is placed on the biting surface or corners of the tooth.

4. Dental Bonding
Like a veneer, dental bonding makes use of a putty-like substance that is formed to the tooth that needs repair. The putty-like substance is then shaped, trimmed, and polished by Dr. Sohn.

Bonding is an excellent choice for any patient who needs to cover up chipped, damaged, or stained teeth.

5. Porcelain Veneers
If you have broken, chipped, misshapen, or crooked teeth, porcelain veneers may be ideal for you. A veneer is made from a thin shell of porcelain and placed on top of your tooth once it has been prepared by Dr. Sohn.

The veneer is held in place using a dental cement, so it does not come off and the veneer is resistant to staining too.

6. Dentures
Dentures are a tooth replacement option and ideal for patients who do not have enough bone for other options such as dental implants. There are two main types of dentures – full and partial.

Full dentures are used when a patient is missing all teeth or has all teeth extracted from their mouth. This is a full replacement system and the dentures sit on top of the gums in your mouth. A dental adhesive can be used to assist with keeping them in place.

Partial dentures are like full dentures, but they are not for complete replacement of your teeth. These dentures are used only when a patient has a couple or few missing teeth. The base of the partial denture is gum colored and blends into the mouth well.

7. Teeth Whitening
Teeth whitening is one of the easiest ways to improve the look of your teeth and is great for patients with stained or yellowed teeth.

Treatment can be done in our Denver office or Dr. Sohn can provide you with a take home gel and mouthpiece to whiten your teeth at home.

8. Dental Implants
Dental implants are a common and routine procedure used to replace missing teeth. When a patient is missing teeth due to extractions or gum disease, dental implants may be the best solution for them.

The procedure uses a titanium artificial root that is placed into your jawbone and allowed to heal. Once the bone and gum tissue heal, a strong foundation is created.

When ready, crowns will be placed on top of the abutment that will go on top of the implant. Many patients choose this option as it fills in their smile and provides them with something to smile about.

9. Other Cosmetic Options
In addition to the above cosmetic dental procedures, there are additional procedures for you to choose from including implant-supported dentures, orthodontic treatment, and bridges. Dr. Sohn is prepared to talk to you and discuss your options with you.
